Anime Twin Cities Board Meeting Minutes
August 11th, 2026
7:00 PM
Board Present – Christina Kramer, Denon Schaefer, Jeannette Wallen, Lori Fischer-Fairbanks, and Nick Nelson
Board Absent – Echo O’Donnell and Josh Snead
Public – Makaila Kozitza, J.C. Horvath, and Kevin Ehrler
The board was short two members but still had quorum. The agenda was available through the livestream description. Due to an issue with the YouTube chat, attendees were unable to use the chat for attendance, but could still complete the attendance form.
We want to remind you at the end of the meeting we have an open session if there are any questions for the board please put it in the chat ahead of time so we can answer it when we get to it at the end.

Coordinator Updates
- Finance – Jeannette Wallen
- Dollar amounts:

- Business Checking: $272,639.57
- Education Fund: $3,098.78
- Business Market Rate Savings (Community Fund): $14,509.20
- Anime Detour – J.C. Horvath
- A staff meeting is scheduled for Saturday, where budgets will be discussed.
- J.C. reported that good things are happening and expressed excitement about the future.
- Primary Day was also noted as taking place that day.
- Charities – Jacob Warner (Absent)
- Jacob could not attend and had no updates.
- Communications – Makaila Kozitza
- No updates were reported. Obon Festival is this weekend.
- Special Events – Alli Cassel (Absent)
- Upcoming Events
- Excalibur Con – This weekend in Duluth.
- Obon Festival – Sunday at Como Park. Anime Twin Cities will be by the stage again as a sponsor.
- Anime Fargo – Scheduled for later in September.
- For the first time, the Special Events team will attempt to sell merchandise at Excalibur Con. The team will sell plushies and pins using a square reader, with no cash sales, and merchandise sales will be tracked separately.
- A patch game will also be available at the Anime Twin Cities table at Excalibur Con.

Current Month Board Topics
Open Session (up to 30 minutes)
- Any members of the community can bring new business to discuss with the board
- ATC Mailbox
- The dedicated Anime Twin Cities mailbox email has not yet been set up. Christina will set up the email address.
- A folder has been created in the shared drive for scanned mail. Scanned items can be placed there, with an email sent to indicate what has been added so the information can be easily located later.
- Open Board Projects/Future Meeting Discussions
- October – Budget Meeting
- Anime Detour budgets are due in September and will be presented in October. The board should complete the budgets in September to allow time for review. The two budgets are the main Anime Detour budget and Special Events; Christina does not believe Charities has been spun out as a separate budget.
- Otaku Garage Sale
- Makaila reported an inquiry through the Instagram inbox about holding another Otaku Garage Sale. This would fall under Special Events. Alli has it on her radar, and Lori may reach out to help or take on some of the work. The topic will also be discussed in the coordinator chat.
